UNIT PROJECT – WEBSITE DESIGN PROCESS
LEARNING GOALS
- I can apply an assortment of web design concepts
to create a website and showcase my skills and knowledge.
- I can apply the web design
process to create a website.
DESCRIPTION
A company (that
you get to invent) has hired you to create a website that will give it a good
representation on the internet. You must
use your knowledge of html to create the site.
You will have to present the site in class.
DETAILS
Your site
should:
- Be big enough to cover all the basics of a
company. It should therefore have
about 6 subpages or more.
- Showcase different web design concepts that you have
learned such as html tables for layouts, frames, css, image mapping, image
slicing, .... (You certainly do not
need all of these.)
- Demonstrate your knowledge of creating an
appropriate look and feel for a website.
This includes your choice of colours, layouts, images and even
fonts.
- Be neat and consistent throughout. Use the same buttons everywhere. Use the same background. Use the same font. Use the same style. Keep it well organized.
- Follow website design rules.
AVOID
- Avoid putting the exact same type of information on
each page. The last thing I want
for each page to contain one paragraph of information and nothing
else. Be creative to include your
knowledge of different web design concepts.
