OVERVIEW

A moving rack and pinion mechanism is a device that converts rotational movement into linear movement. The rack will slide in one of two opposite directions depending on the rotation of the pinion.

COMPONENTS

The pinion is a circular gear that comes into contact with a linear gear called the rack. One of the two will be fixed and the other will move.
