PROJECT 01 – GETTING STARTED

OVERVIEW

In this circuit, you will simply make use of a breadboard to create a circuit that will light up an LED.  At the end, you will also work with a 5V regulator.

BEFORE STARTING

Be sure a resistor is placed in series with the LED.

If the LED doesn’t light up, it might be connected backwards.

PART 1

Using a breadboard, create a circuit that will light up an LED.  Don’t forget the resistor!

PART 2

Add a second LED and resistor branch to the circuit above.  Use a smaller resistor.  What do you notice about the brightness of each LED?

PART 3

Add a 5V regulator to your circuit.  You will have to look at Lesson 2 in order to know how to use 5V regulators.

Show your circuit to your teacher.
