LESSON 04 – ADDING HOUSE ITEMS IN AUTOCAD

In this lesson, we will look at details related to adding house items such as doors, windows, kitchen items and washroom items.

DOORS

There are two dimensions needed for doors.

Door gap – 750mm (approx)

Door space from corner – 100mm (on all sides)

Door spacing required for the framing of the door.

Here is how your door should look like and the dimensions involved:

DRAWING DOORS IN AUTOCAD

1 – Draw the rectangle representing the door.

·         It should be the same length as the gap in the wall.

·         You should leave a tiny space so the door isn’t touching the wall.

2 – Draw the arc by choosing DRAW > ARC >  START END ANGLE

·         Pick the door or the wall as a start point,  the other as an end point, and 90 for the degrees.

·         If the arc is backwards, you chose the wrong start point.

·         Note: You can also use START CENTER END and use the both the hinge of the door for the center.
