Hints/Steps
- Create your vehicle and make it a clip (CTRL-G). This is simply to group it so that it
can be tweened.
- On a separate layer, create the shape of the planet.
Lock the layer.
- Make your vehicle tween from the very left of the
screen to the very right of the screen.
At this point, it will be straight through the planet.
- You need to stretch the planet’s layer to be as long
as your tween. You will need to
unlock that layer to do this. But
lock it back after.
- On the first keyframe, change the rotation of your
vehicle to match the planet’s surface.
- On the last keyframe, change the rotation of your
vehicle to match the planet’s surface.
- Watch your tween.
Notice that the rotation of the vehicle changes automatically as
it moves.
- Now pick a frame at about the halfway point of your
tween. With the cursor tool,
select your vehicle. Use the UP
arrow to move the car to the surface of the planet. Tweak the rotation if you need to.
- Pick a few more points on the timeline and raise the
vehicle to the surface of the planet.
- Increase the length of the planet layer to about
twice as long as your car’s tween to make it look as if the car is on
the other side of planet before restarting.
