Q-WHAT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO RECORD MY SCREEN ON WINDOWS 10?

Windows 10 has a built-in program called the Game Bar that can record the screen (as well as your microphone).  You can open it up using the Windows key + G.

Q-WHAT IS THE BEST SOFTWARE PROGRAM TO VIEW VIDEOS IN?

If the program that comes with your operating system isn’t working well enough, then I would suggest VLC.  It is a free open source video player.

The site address is: https://www.videolan.org/

Q-DOES WINDOWS 10 COME WITH A VIDEO EDITOR?

While not that well known, Windows 10 comes with two video editors:

1-Video Editor App (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-films-with-video-editor-94e651f8-a5be-ae03-3c50-e49f013d47f6)

2- Photos App (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/edit-photos-and-videos-in-windows-10-a3a6e711-1b70-250a-93fa-ef99048a2c86)

Q-WHAT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO TRIM A VIDEO IN WINDOWS 10?

The Photos app that allows you to view photos and videos can actually be used to trim a video clip.  Here are the steps:

1-Open the video in the Photos application.

2-At the top right, click on Edit and Create and then Trim.

3-Move the start point and end point as you want them.

4-At the top right, click on Save and Copy.  This saves a copy of your trimmed video in the same folder as your original file.

Q-WHAT IS THE EASIEST TO REDUCE A VIDEO’S FILE SIZE?

I suggest using VLC because it is a free open source software that is valuable video player and can also convert video files.

To reduce the size:

-In VLC, go in Media > Convert / Save.

-Press the Add button and browse to your source video.

-Hit the Convert/Save button.

-Choose a Profile that you think works for you.

-Click the Browse button beside Destination file.  CAREFUL!  You are initially suggested the same filename as the source video.  I suggest you give it a different name.  Simply add “new” to the front of the file name for now.  This way, you will not overwrite your initial video.

-Hit Start.
