POSSIBLE FILES TO USE

Click here for a video clip of a remote control being switched in front of a green background.

Click here for a zip file that contains six animal videos.

INSTRUCTIONS

Bring the files above (or your own files) into OpenShot.

Place the clip with the remote control on the timeline.

To slow down the clip, right-click on it and choose Time > Slow > Forward > 1/4X.

Add the Chroma Key effect on the clip.  Choose the green background as the colour to remove.  Set the proper Threshold.

Since the controller’s button is hit five times, you will need to bring in six clips each on their own track.  Go ahead and drag in the first clip on a track that is below the track with your remote control.

This first clip should start at the beginning of your movie.  View your movie and pause the playhead at the spot where the button gets pressed for the first time.  On your clip, right click and choose Slice > Keep Left Side.

Now repeat for the other clips to complete your video.

POSSIBLE ADDITION

Add a TV frame around the video clips to cement the idea that we are looking at a TV.  Place it behind the hand and remote.
