SKILLS ONTARIO – PIN & MEDAL DESIGN COMPETITION

POSSIBLE SYMBOLS

Here are a few possible symbols that you can incorporate.  Note that you do not need to use any of these symbols and in fact, many of the winners did not used them.

SKILLS ONTARIO LOGO

In the 2016 and 2017, three of the four winners used the five strands from the logo below.

ONTARIO TRILLIUM LOGO

This is Ontario's Trillium logo.  It seems to be used less often than it once was though.

OLDER ONTARIO TRILLIUM LOGOS

Here are some different older versions of the trillium logo.  If you'd want to include one, it would probably have to be in some sort of hidden form though as it is dated.

CN TOWER

The CN Tower is an internationally known symbol of Toronto, Ontario and Canada.  But is it too much of a symbol for specifically Toronto?  If it is, is that even a bad thing?  Toronto is the provincial capital.  And it's where the competition takes place.

MAPLE LEAF

Remember that this is a symbol for all of Canada and would maybe be more appropriate for the national competition.  But maybe it's still worth considering.

LAUREL WREATH

A laurel wreath is a commonly used symbol of victory.

SYMBOLS RELATED TO TECHNOLOGY & SKILLS

Each of the images below can be linked to one or more of the competition events at Skills Ontario.  Of course, you have to be careful not to focus on only a few events.  And, it is important that design your own images.
