MORE DETAILS

The Skills Ontario Competition is an annual provincial competition that takes place in Toronto.  There, students from all corners of Ontario participate in a competition related to a specific skill.  These range from 2D Animation to AutoCad Design to Baking.  The top three in each event receive a medal and also receive a pin to give to their teacher.

In advance of the Skills Ontario Competition which takes place in May, Skills Ontario runs both a Pin Design competition and a Medal Design competition.  Students simply need to provide a hardcopy (printout or hand sketch) of a pin or medal design.

The student with the best design is recognized for his/her work.  That design is used in the manufacturing of all pins/medals.  The student may also receive other prizes.  For example, in 2017, there is a 250$ cash prize.  It should be noted that this is a prestigious award to win and would be an excellent addition to your resume and portfolio.
