LEARNING FROM HOME
TIPS

SETUP
- Create bookmarks (favourites)
for each of the following:
- Google classroom
- This website
- Our Google Meet*
- Morning Announcements
- Gmail
- Any other regularly used site
*
Note: Mr. C. uses the same link for Google Meet for the entire semester. Not all teachers do this.
- Organize all your bookmarks so that everything is
easy to find.
LOCATION
- Try to have a designated location where you connect
to the classroom every day.
- You need a solid surface for your computer and to
write on. A desk or table are the
best options.
- Do not setup in front of a television.
- Ideally, your location should be a quiet place where
there are no distractions.
- If you are sharing a location with others, consider
using earphones. Muting the tab
is not an option as you will not hear your teacher.
HARDWARE
- Make sure your microphone works.
- Make sure your video camera works.
- You are encouraged to have earphones nearby.
DAILY ROUTINE
1.
Try
to arrive five minutes before the beginning of the period.
2.
Focus
on the entire lesson.
3.
Ask
questions. Somethings might not be as
clear through a video feed.
4.
Do
the assigned work every day. Do not put it off.
SUBMITTING WORK
- You will submit work via email or
in Google Classroom.
- Do not put comments in Google Classroom
assignments if you are needing an immediate answer. Such comments will only be read at
marking time and that is sometimes many days later.
