HTML PROJECT – YOUR FIRST HTML SITE

For this small project, you will create a small website on a topic of your choice.

A few example topics:

• You
• Your favourite TV show(s) / movie(s)
• Your grandmother’s recipes (you better ask before you share!)
• Musicians or songs you like
• Youtube channels you like
• A opinion website on a topic
• A research website

REQUIREMENT – 5 HTML DOCUMENTS

Your website will consist of at least 5 html documents. So you will have your main page (index.html) and at least four subpages.

Below is a website diagram of the organization of your website. So you need to link your main page to your four subpages.

REQUIREMENT – NAVIGATION

You need to create a navigation bar (menu) for your links. This should be done with images. The menu only needs to appear on the main page but you can choose to place it on all other pages as well if you prefer.

REQUIREMENT – FOR EACH HTML DOCUMENT

Each HTML document needs the following:

• A heading at the top center of the page.
• A paragraph of text.
• At least one image.
• Optional: Use a table to create a layout to have the text be beside the image
• Optional: More information and images.
• Optional: A photo gallery where you have a small image on your site that links to the full sized image for viewing.
• Optional: Background image or colour
• Optional: The heading could be a nice graphic instead of simple text.
• Optional: Décor could be used on the page.

REQUIREMENT – WEBMASTER’S PHOTO

You must include a posed photo of you smiling. This photo should be professional-looking. This needs to be taken specifically for this site. Make sure you have good lighting for the photo.

You will place the photo on the site. If you do not know how to incorporate it, you can have a simple page that presents the site’s webmaster. Or, you can place a small icon of your photo at the bottom of the main page that links to a larger photo of you.
