FUZZY SELECT CUTOUT (MAGIC WAND)

You will convert the image on the left into the image on the right.

REQUIRED TOOLS

• Gradient tool
• Layer panel
• Fuzzy select tool (Magic wand tool)
• Knowledge of Adding Alpha Channel

INSTRUCTIONS

• Click on the left image and save it to your computer. Open it in Gimp.
• Use the Fuzzy Select tool, alter the Threshold as needed and select the heart.
• Before hitting Delete, you need to add an Alpha Chanel to the layer.
• Right click on the layer, and choose Add Alpha Chanel.
• Now, hit Delete to make the heart selection transparent.
• Add a new layer.
• Use the Gradient tool to create a gradient.
• Make sure the new layer is under the hands.
