2020 PRACTICE EXAM (SAMPLE QUESTIONS)

PANDEMIC YEAR = SHORTER EXAM

ABBREVIATED EXAM

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 exam is abbreviated.  It consists of only two questions; one 25 minutes in length and the other 15 minutes in length.

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

AP has released a sample exam that they have called sample questions.  This serves as a practice exam for students.  It helps us practice for timing and helps us get a feeling for the difficulty of the exam.

CAMPEAU’S ATTEMPT

Below is Mr. Campeau’s attempt to write the practice exam strictly following the provided timelines.

PRE-ATTEMPT THOUGHTS

A strategy that a test designer will use to minimize cheating is to make the test long enough to take up all of your time.  So I expect everybody to be time-challenged during this exam.

POST-ATTEMPT THOUGHTS

The practice questions are easy enough; at least the coding is easy.  The challenge is all in understanding the problem and dealing with the time constraints.  But that is a big challenge!

It is important that you are ready to work with both an IDE and a DOC or with paper.  Save your work regularly (in case you close it accidentally.)
